International ICT Awards names Convergys ‘BPO Company of the Year’

Convergys won as the BPO Company of the Year in the recently concluded International ICT Awards Philippines 2010 of the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Convergys opened 4 new world-class sites, adding 4,200 jobs and ending 2009 with 20,000 employees.

As one of the global leaders in providing customer care, accounts receivable management, human resources and billing services, the company invested close to a billion pesos in the country, spending about $4.3 million on training about 11,000 employees last year.
The company also added 12 new programs and 22 lines of business, including launching its first UK and Canadian programs. Its expanded portfolio includes Back Office, Accounts Receivables Management, Finance & Accounting, and HR Management, Customer care, technical support and market research.

Telus International Philippines won the award for BPO Employer of the Year.
Telus offers comprehensive learning and development programs that train and develop all levels of staff, such as Program ONE for orientation of new hires, Personal Empowerment Program offered to all team members, LEAD for developing leadership capabilities, OnTrac for developing operations management abilities and Executive Development for senior leadership team members.

In addition, Telus has one of the strongest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in Philippines. Deutsche Bank won the Shared Services Excellence of the Year award for its Deutsche Knowledge Services, a shared service centre for finance, global business services and IT.
